Join us for Noice-ities – new on That’s Noice!
We thought we’d try something a bit new (noice, unusual, diff’rent…!) here on That’s Noice!… something that you can all get involved in, even if you don’t have a blog of your own!
We’re calling it Noice-ities (i.e. niceties, but noice!) and it’s a weekly meme/blog carnival/attempt to get everyone out of the woodwork.
Basically, it”s a chance for our friends to share their noice finds – we’ll (plan to) do it every Friday with a new theme.
To start us off, we thought we’d ask a question with a crafty theme:
If skill/talent was no object, what do you want to make?
It doesn’t have to be “traditional” craft; just whatever you can make with your own hands. Else, you can share your creative attempts – it could even be a craftastrophe?
If you have a blog, you can write a post and share the link with us in the comments below. But even if you don’t have a blog, tell us about it in the comments below! We know you’re out there, come on out and join us! As we go along, we’ll add you all to the bottom of this post as well :)
If you’re looking for inspiration, check out some of our fave crafty blogs:
- Fern at Craft Blog
- Pip at Meet Me At Mike’s
- Jhoanna at One Red Robin
- The girls over at Whip Up
Updated 19/4/10: Wow, what a fantastic response we’ve gotten for our first week of Noice-ities! Thanks guys :)
- Bri jumped in first with her gothic gowns
- Leigh dobbed me in about “nice-tits” and admitted her outright jealousy of crafty people
- Then I finally piped in with my simple dream of sewing something to hide our gaming consoles
- Jarod & Liz are going to start a bakery (and dream about letterpress!)
- I totally identify with Fiona’s dream of gorgeous cupcakes
Let’s not forget Maliss, Heather, Fern, Jarod (hello, token male!) and Robyn for commenting and joining in the fun.
Thanks guys and gals! Shall we do this again on Friday? I vote YES.

I would make plus size gothic gowns like those pictured on my blog and I would have a wardrobe full of such frilly flouncy finery!
(Nowhere to wear it but that is a different story!)
Ice sculptures… pretty ending & involves chainsaws – what else could a girl want?
Oh, now that is a good one. And you could transfer your chainsaw skillz to trees as well.
I’d love to paint….probably landscapes or better still sea scapes.
ooh, and painting can be so therapeutic, too. though I’m sure I’d be spending my time throwing the paintbrush across the room, hehe!
One of my goals for this year was to build a usable piece of furniture. I haven’t even started thinking about it yet, but there’s still eight months left :)
Next year I’m going to tackle upholstery.

Fern, I can SO see you doing upholstery. I still remember that post of ours about the homemade furniture, though, and I should have put THAT on my list!
Predictable as all hell, but if I had the time, money and talent I’d be making myself a bike frame. As in, 3D CAD’ing it, cutting the tubes, welding, painting, etc.
Fun stuff. Now where’s my welder?
.-= Jarod´s last blog ..106/365 – Train in Hunting Mode =-.
Now that could be fun! It’s been awhile since I have wielded a welder.

Short answer? Letterpress!

I bought myself a jigsaw a couple of years ago had visions of making creative type thingys with it it’s still in the box brand new never been touched I take it out and admire it every now and then would actually like to make something with it.
Cupcakes. But not simple ones, awesome ones. http://littlelioness.net/2010/04/19/hello-naomi-cupcake-noice-ities/
those aren’t just awesome, they’re unbelievable. WANT!
